Quick Computer Teardown

I was moving out of my apartment, but I didn't want to take these two computers I found in the dumpster. At least, not all of them. The big bulky cases were stupid to take with me, so I decided to tear them down and see how compact we could make it while still keeping it reasonably usable. These were two old computers, but I imagine I could do something fun with them at one point.

The first victim is a Sony PCV-RX550. It's sporting a Pentium 4 and some old as dirt RAM. So let's take care of it, shall we?

This thing refused to boot from a USB drive, so I'm not sure what good it is just yet, but we're taking it apart. Start by removing the weirdly placed power supply.

Next, we're going to take the CD drives out.

The floppy disk is a little weird, but it comes out on an arc at first.

After a bit more work, here's what we're left with from one computer:

Now, with the second computer, I didn't keep the heat sink because it was absolutely massive.

From this one, we got the following components:

So, what should I do with these parts? I'm thinking breaking them down even further, but I'm not so sure yet. If you have an idea, let me know, but for now they're just sitting in my car waiting to be unloaded. If nothing comes of these, at least I got some drives out of the deal, even if it's a 160GB IDE drive and some CD/floppy drives.
